We are actively seeking a Supervisor-Operations to join our team in Delta (BC). YOUR TALENTS WILL BE USED TO MEET THE FOLLOWING CHALLENGES:

  • Champion Ocean Group's Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) culture and serve as a role model for your team.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate operational and safety risks.
  • Supervise and coordinate the execution of operational activities and projects.
  • Evaluate project requirements, including labour, vessels, equipment and materials, and coordinate procurement needs.
  • Ensure projects are executed efficiently, safely and according to schedule.
  • Support recruitment, employee management and payroll administration, including timekeeping.
  • Coordinate onboarding and training activities for new employees.
  • Participate in employee performance management and development.
  • Apply and administer collective agreement provisions in collaboration with the Operations Manager.
  • Monitor tug maintenance and repair activities to ensure compliance with established specifications and standards.
  • Ensure adherence to quality and regulatory standards, including ISM and ISPS requirements.
  • Participate and support the activities of the Health, Safety and Environment Management System.

OUR IDEAL COLLEAGUE HAS:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience supervising operational teams
  • Maritime education or training in navigation or marine engineering (strong asset)
  • Experience in a marine environment (strong asset)
  • Strong leadership, planning and organizational skills
  • Valid and unrestricted driver's licence
  • Availability to travel to other work sites
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications
  • Familiarity with SAP, Power BI, ConformIT, SINEX or similar digital platforms (asset)
  • Advanced English communication skills, both written and spoken
