YOUR TALENTS WILL BE USED TO MEET THE FOLLOWING CHALLENGES:
- Champion Ocean Group's Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) culture and serve as a role model for your team.
- Proactively identify and mitigate operational and safety risks.
- Supervise and coordinate the execution of operational activities and projects.
- Evaluate project requirements, including labour, vessels, equipment and materials, and coordinate procurement needs.
- Ensure projects are executed efficiently, safely and according to schedule.
- Support recruitment, employee management and payroll administration, including timekeeping.
- Coordinate onboarding and training activities for new employees.
- Participate in employee performance management and development.
- Apply and administer collective agreement provisions in collaboration with the Operations Manager.
- Monitor tug maintenance and repair activities to ensure compliance with established specifications and standards.
- Ensure adherence to quality and regulatory standards, including ISM and ISPS requirements.
- Participate and support the activities of the Health, Safety and Environment Management System.
OUR IDEAL COLLEAGUE HAS:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience supervising operational teams
- Maritime education or training in navigation or marine engineering (strong asset)
- Experience in a marine environment (strong asset)
- Strong leadership, planning and organizational skills
- Valid and unrestricted driver's licence
- Availability to travel to other work sites
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications
- Familiarity with SAP, Power BI, ConformIT, SINEX or similar digital platforms (asset)
- Advanced English communication skills, both written and spoken
