We are actively seeking a Project Manager to supervise the completion of construction, repair and maintenance projects for ships and barges.  He participates in the preparation of tenders and the coordination of work.

YOUR TYPICAL DAY

Reporting to Director – Projects and Technical Services, you will have to:

  • Review the client's technical specifications related to the repair, construction and maintenance of ships and barges and develop manufacturing plans for the project, if required;
  • In collaboration with the foremen and management, plan the overall work, the stages of completion as well as the labor and material needs according to the deadlines and budgets agreed in the contract;
  • Place requisitions for materials required necessary for the completion of the projects and forward them to the purchasing department;
  • Follow up on welding and steel assembly, mechanical and electrical installations, painting and finishing work to ensure that the progress of the work is progressing according to plan (costs, schedules and results );
  • Coordinate the work carried out by subcontractors;
  • Verify the work to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, standards of classification societies and Transport Canada;
  • Collaborate with the Coordinator - Quality Assurance and the foremen on the various dockside and sea trials of boats and barges; Collaborate, with the quality assurance coordinator, in the application of the quality standards in force.

 

OUR IDEAL COLLEAGUE

  • College diploma in naval architecture or equivalent in the maritime field;
  • Minimum of five (5) years in maritime project management;
  • Any other training related to project management will be taken into consideration;
  • Good knowledge of Word and Excel (intermediate), Ms Projec (asset);
  • Knowledge of SAP, an asset;
  • Proficiency in French and English, both spoken and written.
