We are actively seeking a Engineer officer – 3rd class to perform mechanical operations and maintenance on Z-Drive tugs. You will be required to work in Paspébiac.

YOUR TALENTS WILL BE USED TO MEET THE FOLLOWING CHALLENGES:

Reporting to the Project Manager and the Tug Captain, you will have to:

  • Maintain the main engine and auxiliary equipment.
  • Operate electrical, mechanical and hydraulic control systems as well as replenishment-at-sea equipment.
  • Operate and maintain refrigeration, ventilation and air conditioning equipment.
  • Monitor the tasks of the preventive maintenance system.
  • Ensure the implementation of the safety management system in his department.
  • Monitor the functioning parameters of the main engine (pressure, temperature, levels) and report any irregularity.
  • Other related tasks as requested by his supervisor.
  • Participate and support the activities of the Health, Safety and Environment Management System.

 

OUR IDEAL COLLEAGUE HAS:

  • Valid Canadian STCW Certificate of Competency as a Third 3rd Class Engineer Officer (Motor) with Propulsion Simulator Level II
  • Hold Certificates of Proficiency (CoP):
    • MED Proficiency in survival craft and rescue boats other than fast rescue boats
    • STCW Basic Safety
    • Advanced Fire Fighting
  • Hold a valid Marine Medical certificate issued by Transport Canada
  • Have three (3) to five (5) years of experience as Engineer Officer
  • Good knowledge of diesel motor mechanics
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Good physical condition
  • Languages: advanced level in English or French, both spoken and written and intermediate level in English, spoken
