We are actively seeking a deckhand to join the team at Paspebiac (QC) to maneuver cables of various sizes during the docking and the undocking of the tug and assisted vessels and to carry out tug maintenance operations.

YOUR TALENTS WILL BE USED TO MEET THE FOLLOWING CHALLENGES:

• Participate in the maneuvers on the tugs.
• Berth and unberth tugs using cables.
• Maintain the interior fittings and bridges.
• Position the gangway and ensure the safe transfer of people.
• Connect the ground power (plug and circuit breaker).
• Clean, paint, and perform other required work required to maintain the facilities.
• Assist the Chief Engineer with certain tasks.
• Cook and clean the kitchen.
• Participate and support the activities of the Health, Safety and Environment Management System.

OUR IDEAL COLLEAGUE HAS:

• Certificates of competence:
  • Basic Safety STCW-BS
  • Lifeboat and rescue boat operating skills other than fast rescue boats
• Valid medical certificate issued by Transport Canada
• Basic Marine First Aid Certificate (asset)
• Three (3) to five (5) years of experience as a deckhand(asset)
• Bilingualism in French and English, spoken and written (asset)
• Languages:
  • Advanced level of French or English, both spoken and written
  • Intermediate level of English, both spoken and written
